The 8th Forum de la Haute Horlogerie, held on November 9th 2016 in Lausanne, under the theme “Age of Transitions”. On the day after the American presidential election, speakers took stock of the world today and the trends that are shapping our societies. The Forum de la Haute Horlogerie came about through an original concept in the watchmaking sector: to give the industry’s professionals a chance to debate a topical issue and share insight, away from familiar work settings. So as to emphasise the “out-of-the-box” nature of the Forum, themes are deliberately free from any direct commercial implications, instead encouraging participants to look ahead at the environment that is taking shape for the luxury industry in the twenty-first century.
